Resurgence & Ecologist is a magazine which offers positive perspectives on a range of engaging topics covering ecology, social justice, philosophy, spirituality, sustainable development and the arts.
Published bi-monthly, each beautifully illustrated issue features articles by respected writers, news from the frontline of the environmental movement, ideas on ethical living, book reviews, recipe columns, humour, poetry and arts profiles. Past contributors include Margaret Atwood, Antony Gormley, Vandana Shiva and Polly Higgins and more!
Resurgence & Ecologist is now firmly established as essential reading throughout the environmental movement, and is enjoyed by people from all walks of life including environmentalists, politicians, business leaders, academics, activists, teachers, writers and artists.
I was honoured to met Satish Kumar at a group discussion a year prior to having my article published; we were meeting to share and discuss the climate around the needs of young readers. Conversations with the Resurgence and Ecologist chief editor and I ensued, which lead to the publishing of this article.
The Riverside Journals
During my time working in a private practice in Harley Street I contacted The Riverside Journals to see if they would be willing to release an advertisement for my practise in their lifestyle magazine. The magazine was available to the local clientele and areas located along the Thames River, and I was drawn to their connection to water. In time they requested to run a business page on the benefits of play for adult clients.
BBC Radio Scotland
This is a live radio discussion with psychologist Geoff Beattie for T.V. series Big Brother and Creative Counsellor Aya Husni Bey in discussion with Kaye Adams about the current growing awareness of adult play and its benefits to our well-being and personal development. This interview was requested by BBC Radio Scotland after The Telegraph released an article titled: ‘adult play is a booming branch of the wellness industry’.
The following three events coincided with one another when I took the leap of faith in starting my own business promoting Arts & Play for the well-being of adults and in the context of a counselling environment. After running a workshop for a group of journalists at Gazelli House I was contacted by the Telegraph to run a 1:1 session with journalist Cherrill Hicks; the same article was picked up, and published by The New Zealand Herald.
